They originally imported bike parts from Italy which they couldn’t source in the US ,but in 1976 they began to make their own bike parts for manufacturing purposes. After a mishap with sales in 1996 the company was very close to bankruptcy and it wasn’t until 2001 when Merida bikes bought 30% of their company that they really got back on track. After this they slowly become one of the biggest cycling companies in the world.
